Custom Safety Fencing with Light Curtain Integration

WireCrafters worked with Bulwark Safety Systems to deliver a custom machine guarding application for an undisclosed customer. The project required a solution that combined wire mesh panels with a light curtain to provide safe and efficient access for the operator of a pressing machine. By integrating these elements, the system not only protected employees from potential hazards but also maintained the productivity and functionality of the operation.
Customer Description
The customer described needing a safety solution allowing operators to access a pressing machine without risk of injury. They required wire mesh panels to restrict access from areas of the press not used by the operator, ensuring hands and other body parts could not accidentally enter hazardous zones. At the same time, the system needed to work in conjunction with a light curtain, which would shut down the press whenever the operator crossed into the protected area. This design enabled operators to safely add or remove products without the risk of being harmed during machine operation, creating a safer and more controlled work environment.
